Engineering guide

Manual or pneumatic chuck: start with the operating requirement.

Compare actuation, mounting, interface and changeover needs before selecting a chuck for EDM, CNC machining or an automated workholding setup.

Actuation comparison

Choose around the complete process.

Actuation is one selection factor. The compatible interface, mounting arrangement and machine integration must also match.

Manual chuck

Operator-controlled setups and applications where automatic actuation is not required.

Confirm the manual operating method, mounting pattern, orientation, interface and available access around the chuck.

PA-12001M D100 Manual Chuck

Pneumatic chuck

Repeat changeover and setups that require compressed-air actuation, including automation-ready arrangements.

Confirm the required air supply, mounting base, cleaning function, control arrangement and safe machine integration.

Selection checklist

Five details to confirm before ordering.

Use the current installation as the reference point and separate PLUS AUTO product data from original-system comparison data.

01
Interface

Identify the complete EROWA-compatible ITS or System 3R-compatible Macro interface. A similar chuck diameter does not establish compatibility.

02
Mounting

Compare the base, bolt pattern, orientation and available installation space with the current machine arrangement.

03
Actuation

For pneumatic models, confirm the air pressure and control method. For manual models, confirm safe access for the operating mechanism.

04
Application

Record whether the chuck will hold electrodes, workpieces or fixtures in EDM, WEDM, CNC machining or an automated cell.

05
Evidence

Send the current model, drawing and clear mounting-side photos when the complete setup cannot be confirmed from the reference alone.

Examples

Review models by interface and installation.

These products illustrate different manual and pneumatic arrangements; they are not interchangeable without a product-specific review.

FAQ

Questions to resolve during selection.

Is a pneumatic chuck always the better choice for automation?

Not by itself. The chuck, air supply, control, mounting, gripper or robot arrangement and machine safety functions must be reviewed as one system.

Can chuck diameter confirm a direct replacement?

No. Confirm the interface, mounting pattern, drawbar or spigot, orientation, actuation and surrounding installation space.

What should I send for a selection review?

Send the current chuck and original reference, machine, application, target PLUS AUTO model, quantity, drawing and mounting-side photos where fit is uncertain.
