Precision Spring Type Centering Sensor for Universal Measurement Applications

The PA-21007V-TR is a high-precision spring type centering sensor (universal measuring probe) designed for Macro-style automation systems. It is specifically engineered for machine tool measurement cycles, enabling automatic workpiece and electrode centering, 3D alignment verification, and in-process gauging with enhanced flexibility.

Unlike rigid probes, this sensor features a spring-loaded universal measuring head (Renishaw-style) that allows deflection in multiple directions: ±10° in X and Y axes, and up to ±3mm in the Z axis. This design accommodates complex geometries, angled surfaces, and reduces the risk of damage during accidental over-travel.

Built on a 60×60mm reference base, this sensor seamlessly interfaces with Macro-style chucks, pallets, or centering plates, enabling fully automated measurement routines without manual intervention.

Manufactured from Stainless Steel 420 with a hardness of 32–36 HRC, the PA-21007V-TR offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term dimensional stability, even in demanding EDM or machining environments. The measuring ball is available in Ø3mm or Ø5mm options to suit different measurement requirements.

Key Benefits:

  • Universal Flexibility: Spring-loaded design allows ±10° angular deflection and ±3mm axial travel, accommodating complex measurement paths.

  • Automated Centering: Standardized 60×60mm interface enables quick loading/unloading using existing Macro-style clamping systems.

  • Damage Protection: Spring mechanism reduces the risk of probe damage during unexpected contact or over-travel.

  • Versatile Application: Suitable for workpiece and electrode centering, 3D alignment, and in-process inspection on CNC mills, EDM, and machining centers.

  • Durable Construction: Stainless steel body resists wear and corrosion, ensuring long service life.

Typical Applications:

  • Workpiece centering and alignment on machining centers

  • Electrode positioning for sinker EDM with complex geometries

  • 3D measurement cycles requiring multi-axis deflection

  • In-process inspection and quality control

  • Automated tool and workpiece setup in manufacturing cells

Compatibility: The PA-21007V-TR is designed for use with Macro-style chucks, pallets, and automation systems utilizing the industry-standard 60×60mm reference interface. It is suitable for machines equipped with measurement cycle capabilities.

Note: This spring type sensor is ideal for applications requiring angular flexibility. For simple, straight-line centering tasks, the rigid probe version (PA-21006V-TR) may be preferred. Please specify measuring ball diameter (Ø3mm or Ø5mm) when ordering. Consult your machine tool’s measurement cycle programming manual for integration details.
